The Assiniboine Family

Andre Renner and Claude Duchesne would like to welcome you to a place like no other- Assiniboine. In continuation of the Renner backcountry hospitality legacy, which started in 1983 with Sepp and Barb Renner, Andre is the next Renner generation to call Assiniboine home. Claude joins Andre, as his business partner, and brings his infectious warmth, enthusiasm and years of knowlege of the mountains to the Assiniboine family. They will be the Assiniboine host for Lodge Guests, Hut Visitors and Campers for the next twenty years.  

Andre, who lives with his wife Karen, in Radium spent his formative years growing up at Assiniboine. With his sisters, Sara and Natalie, Andre spent his childhood climbing obscure spires, schussing down couloirs, taking pictures and enjoying culinary delights from the kitchen back bench. Many know Andre as a guide with a steady pace.

Claude is a transplant from the CMH world where he was a heli ski guide and a manager for the Gothics Lodge. His wife, Annick has worked at Assiniboine for many years as a chef and it was on these working holiday where the Duchesne's fell in love with Assiniboine. With their children, Alexandre and Anne-Marie, the Duchesne's look forward to welcoming you.

Sepp and Barb Renner claim that you cannot take fossils out of the Park and are transitioning into their new Assiniboine roles as chief story tellers. They will be at Assiniboine often and likely with their growing flock of grandchildren.
