What is the Huts Operational Season?

Winter 2011-2012 Operational season for the Naiset Huts:

  • Friday, December 30th and Monday, January 2nd.
  • Friday February 17th-March 2nd. Flights on Friday and Sunday. Flights will operate on Wednesday based on demand. On the Alberta Family Day holiday flights operate on Friday, February 17th and Monday, February 20th.
  • March 2nd-April 8th. Flights on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. On Easter weekend, flights operate on Friday April 6th and Monday, April 9th

Services are provided for Naiset Hut users during the Huts operational season. The operational season is when there is a custodian at Assiniboine Lodge. Services include usage of the Wonder Lodge Cooking Shelter, flights to and from Assiniboine, flying gear, fire log purchase and emergency contact.

Outside of the operational season, there are no services provided for Hut Visitors. The Naiset Huts remain open but the Wonder Cooking Shelter is closed. Visitors are responsibility for bringing a cooking stove and fuel. There is no helicopter access.

In the summer, reservations are recommended to quarantee a space in the Naiset Huts. Space is available on a first-come, first-serve bases for visitors who do not have a reservation. Visitors who do not have a reservation should be prepared to camp. Reservations are mandatory for the Naiset Huts in the winter.

If you are visiting outside the Naiset Huts operational season, reservations are still required. Reservations and fire log arrangements can be made, in advance, through the Assiniboine Lodge reservation office.
